Thermos Stainless King Food Jar & Sportsman Bottle Recall
Thermos recalled about 8.2 million food jars and bottles after the stopper was found to forcefully eject under pressure, causing injuries including permanent vision loss in three cases. Owners can check their model number for a free replacement part.
What happened
CPSC and Thermos L.L.C. announced a voluntary recall April 30, 2026, covering Stainless King Food Jars (models SK3000 and SK3020, made before July 2023) and Sportsman Bottles (model SK3010). The stopper lacks a pressure-relief vent. CPSC logged 27 injury reports, including 3 cases of permanent vision loss.
Who may be affected
Anyone with a 16-oz Food Jar (SK3000), 24-oz Food Jar (SK3020), or 40-oz Sportsman Bottle (SK3010) bought roughly March 2008–July 2024 may want to check the stopper for a center pressure-relief vent.
