Target Up & Up Baby Wipes Recall (Bacterial Contamination)
Target recalled two of its Up & Up store-brand baby wipes after FDA testing found bacteria that can cause serious infection, especially in infants and people who are immunocompromised. Anyone with the affected wipes can return them to a Target store for a full refund.
What happened
Target announced a voluntary recall June 4, 2026, of Up & Up Fragrance Free and Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented baby wipes after FDA testing found Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli in samples — bacteria the FDA says can cause life-threatening infections in vulnerable groups.
Who may be affected
Anyone with Fragrance Free wipes (manufacturing codes Nov. 7, 2025–May 5, 2026) or Fresh Cucumber wipes (codes Dec. 29–30, 2025) bought at Target or Target.com may want to check the date code on the package.
